Log 02-03 Lostock Dam

Lostock Dam: Built in 1971 across the Paterson River for water storage for adjacent towns.
Tuesday, March 1st 2011.
Finally, the day of departure has come, although we thought we had done as much as we could, it was nearly 1:00 P.M. before we left.
As it was only 155 k’s to Lostock dam it was no worry. We cruised up the expressway, on to New England Highway & then, we wiggled our way to Gresford. The last 22 k’s were a bit of a challenge (probably the first of many) as the road was in very bad condition & it was 2nd & 3rd gear with a few times in 1st till we arrived 45 minutes later. We stopped several times for photos as the countryside is picture perfect. Lostock dam is a scenic wonderland of lush, green rolling countryside. As it was raining when we awoke in the morning & as there are only walks for entertainment we left for Dunedoo where we had to arrive by the 3rd.
