Log 05-04 Noosa

We love visiting Noosa, the town is so vibrant, alive with it's activity & energy. The cafes are very cosmopolitan with a wide variety of foods on offer. Upon arriving we parked a little way out of town, the first spot we fitted into, walked back & then did a bit of window shopping before having a coffee break & then on to Peter & Chris's place where we had a dip in their pool. It's been a great 4 day break here, visiting the Eumundi markets, checking out all the very colourful stalls. Although it's only been 2 years since we were last here, the markets are measurably larger & dominated by womens clothing stalls, anything from everyday clothes to budding designer labels & very upmarket they are, there is the usual range of leather goods, creams  & accessories for the ladies too. Food stalls are dotted throughout the markets & in the main street there is a great bookshop that specialises in 2nd hand books & with a cafe attached to rest your weary feet.
The weather has been rain, sunny, rain, sunny so on the rainy days Pete has taken us for a drive to the sights. We visited Pomona, another typical Q'land town with all those great Q'land style homes, the Boreen Point where the pub puts on a spit once a month with a side of beef, pig or lamb. Weren't we lucky to get there on the right day!
We took the scooter in to Noosa one fine day to walk the National Park which covers the whole of Noosa headland. There is ample parking for hundreds of cars (all needed, even on a weekday) & various tracks all numbered so that you don't get lost. We took no. 4 track which follows the cliffs along the Noosa River. There are little side tracks to enable surfers to get to the river where it empties into the ocean. There was an amazing number of people with their surfboards that we encountered along the track. Upon our return from the walk we decided to drive to the riverfront at Noosaville & there-in lies my only complaint about Noosa, you see, Noosa is a city of roundabouts, every corner has a roundabout. There is one every 250 mts. & so we got hopelessly lost, what took 15 minutes to ride to Noosa took an hour to get home.
Still, it was our last day there & P. & C. put on a delicious BBQ for us & we partied till late afterwards.
